JUNG Presents New Products and Trends Across Entire Spectrum of Building Installation

Interconnected, sustainable, secure

The discussion about data protection also does not stop at a smart building. Because everything you can operate digitally yourself, can theoretically also be controlled by unauthorised third parties. This is where KNX Secure comes in. Jung provides effective protection thanks to encryption with the AES128 algorithm. To be able to operate a KNX installation with KNX Secure, specialist installers require the device certificate of the individual KNX Secure product. This is printed on the device and must be read into the ETS software to commission the components reliably. The time-intensive and error-prone process of typing the device certificates is no longer necessary using the smartphone app JUNG KNX Secure Scanner.

JUNG KNX Secure Scanner

With the new smartphone app, JUNG closes the trade interface between installer, distribution engineer and system integrator: installers simply scan in the QR code and the secure keys appear in the app as a list view. With the JUNG KNX Secure Scanner app, you create a protected certificate list. In addition, you can issue the secure keys in a password-protected PDF document. The JUNG KNX Secure Scanner app is available at no charge in the App Stores for Android and IOS.

JUNG KNX Secure Key Loader

The exported certificate list can be simply transferred to the ETS with the ETS application JUNG KNX Secure Key Loader and thus integrated in the project. Several certificate lists can be merged in a project so that e.g. the project design can be carried out in parallel to the project progress. This extension is available via the KNX Association App Shop (my.knx.org) and is bound to the ETS dongle. The installation is performed via the App menu in the main menu of ETS 5.

ETS Service App

With the new ETS Service app, KNX devices can be conveniently maintained. This ETS app enables e.g. a new firmware to be brought into the new JUNG KNX device generation via Twisted Pair. Moreover, older firmware versions can be transferred if required into existing devices (e.g. when a device is replaced in an existing installation).

New actuators with KNX Data Secure

Safe, energy-efficient and with new functions: JUNG improved the switch and blind actuators. Thanks to the bistable relay, the devices are considerably more energy-efficient. The KNX actuators of the latest generation are more compact thanks to their single-storey design and have improved readability. The teaching function is also new: in addition to the classic configuration of the running times via ETS, the installer can transfer the parameters of structurally identical motor drives to several actuators. The work in the property becomes easier and more secure. The new generation of JUNG KNX switch and blind actuators in the 6-gang, 16-gang and 24-gang versions communicate via KNX Data Secure.

New system device: KNX power supply with IP interface

JUNG also optimises the KNX system devices. Due to the combination of power supply and IP interface, the traditional company combines two major system devices into one component. With the new power supply with IP interface, professional installers can implement KNX installations more cost-effectively. It has an output of 320 mA to supply KNX nodes. It also couples the network to the KNX devices. The new power supply with IP interface is of course secure thanks to KNX Secure. The control of the smart building has also received an upgrade: with its own new push-buttons.

The JUNG KNX push-button F 10

The new push-button for the KNX system: the KNX push-button F 10 looks like a classic light switch, but masters intelligent KNX technology. It is available in the Standard and Universal versions and as an extension. All the versions have push-buttons and rocker function. The latter enables additional control possibilities such as dimming lamps. The push-button function in the Universal version enables an additional full-surface operation. In addition, the individual switching points can be assigned multiple times thanks to a sophisticated operating concept. The KNX push-button F 10 communicates if required with full encryption via KNX Data Secure.

Cost-efficient expansion

The JUNG KNX push-button F 10 in the Universal version can be connected to a KNX push-button extension via the left-justified connections. Alternatively, installers can connect extensions with floating contacts, such as reed contacts or conventional light buttons. The maximum distance between the main module (F 10 Universal) and the extension (extension module, push-button etc.) is 30 metres. The JUNG KNX push-button F 10 is available in the A, AS, CD and LS design ranges.

Secure remote maintenance of the KNX system

Simple and cost-efficient remote maintenance and programming of all KNX components: IPS-Remote makes it possible. The remote maintenance saves time for the expert and is convenient for the building owner. Time-consuming and cost-intensive access routes are no longer required: using remote maintenance via IPS-Remote, system integrators gain encrypted access to the KNX components of the customer – with the customer’s approval of course. In this way, the control always remains with the customer. The necessary requirements for maintenance and the implementation of new functions are clear. The ETS app IPS-Remote, the IP interface IPS 300 SREG and the remote maintenance licence IPS-L bound to this interface are required. This is available via the MyJUNG access. The licence can also be ordered after the installation. Once installed on site and linked with the IPS-L licence, system integrators maintain the KNX components behind the IP interface in the usual way via ETS 5 – but they can do this remotely without needing to be on site. System integrators can already modify actuators according to customer requirements, configure wall transmitters, rectify errors and much more. Remote maintenance concentrates exclusively on the KNX line and its integrated components. If necessary, the customer must grant access – this can be done simply and conveniently via the visualisation (e.g. via Smart Visu Server app) or via connection to a push-button sensor.
