Theben Presents New theRonda S KNX Presence Detectors

Theben presents the new theRonda S360 KNX presence detectors designed for presence-dependent, energy-efficient control of lighting and air conditioning indoors. Thanks to its particularly flat design which is just 5 mm thick, the theRonda S360 KNX FLAT DE is virtually invisible when integrated in the ceiling.

The new theRonda S KNX presence detectors are perfectly suited for reliable presence-dependent lighting control in smaller office rooms or side rooms with daylight. Thanks to their protection class IP 54 rating, they are also suitable for use in wet rooms.

theRonda S KNX offers a round detection range of 360° covering an area up to 64 m2 at a room height of 4 m, which reduces the number of presence detectors required in each area as well as the device costs. In addition to a surface-mounted version (theRonda S360 KNX AP), the theRonda S is also available in a version for ceiling installation (theRonda S360 KNX FLAT DE) which has a particularly flat housing and can be easily installed by means of a spring clip.

Flexible programming and practical comfort functions

A multitude of high-performance functions ensure high sensitivity and simple operation with theRonda S KNX: the presence detector can be conveniently programmed via ETS or via the theSenda remote control. The brightness setpoint can be set in lux by using parameters, the object or via remote control. Sensor sensitivity can also be conveniently set from floor level using the remote control. The brightness measurement can be calibrated automatically by entering the measured lux value. With the teach-in function, users can also quickly and easily establish when the detector is to come on. The time delay adapts automatically to the behaviour of the people in the room (self-learning time delay).

The short-term presence function contributes towards increasing energy efficiency. It detects when someone is only briefly in the room and switches the light off, not after the usual 25-minute time delay initially programmed, but as early as two minutes later. The standby function enables constant light control with orientation light as well as dimmable lighting in switching operation with orientation light.
