Simulate daylight, control lighting dynamically, and promote wellbeing: for highly individualised lighting projects, JUNG offers a powerful KNX DALI-2 Gateway. Acting as an interface between KNX and DALI, it enables dynamic control and monitoring of luminaires and luminaire groups via the KNX system. In its latest V2 version, the gateway supports multi-master operation and allows integration of a wide range of DALI sensors.

The JUNG KNX DALI-2 Gateway Colour is available in 1-gang and 2-gang versions, and – depending on the model – enables switching and dimming of up to 64 devices across one or two DALI installations. Integrated into a KNX building management system, both variants support bidirectional or broadcast control of individual luminaires or groups. This makes the gateway ideal for use in Human Centric Lighting (HCL) concepts in residential and office buildings, as well as in exhibition spaces or museums.
Multi-master capability and sensor integration
Certified for DALI-2, the JUNG Gateway allows the use of DALI input devices – such as push-button controllers, rotary controllers, presence detectors or light sensors – to control DALI groups or individual devices. Thanks to multi-master functionality, several DALI sensors can operate simultaneously as application controllers. Control of the KNX installation via DALI sensors is also possible. Combined with JUNG rotary control devices, the gateway enables a broad application spectrum with a high convenience for users.
Flexible control and efficient management
The gateway allows for central configuration of lighting ambience. Light can be dimmed, colour-adjusted, or controlled via scenes and schedules. Automation based on factors such as light intensity or presence detection helps to reduce energy consumption. Through KNX visualisation, lighting scenarios and schedules can be flexibly adapted to user requirements. The real-time status monitoring of DALI participants also simplifies the modification and maintenance of luminaires and sensors. With KNX Data Secure, the gateway is protected against unauthorised access and is future-proof thanks to updatable firmware.

Application example: exhibition space
With the JUNG KNX DALI-2 Gateway, custom lighting concepts can be easily implemented – ideal for exhibition areas featuring changing products or displays. In such environments, the general lighting might be controlled via a DALI group, while individual exhibits are highlighted with tailored light colours, colour temperatures or brightness levels. Different lighting scenes can be configured as KNX scenes and activated through schedules or presence detection – for instance, to automatically adjust to the changing locations of exhibits or varying opening hours. This allows for targeted enhancement of exhibits, supports visitor guidance through lighting, and improves the overall ambience. At the same time, sensors and time-based controls help reduce energy consumption and operating costs in a sustainable manner.
