MDT expands the smart home with new KNX RF+ products: The RF+ window handle and the RF+ radiator thermostat are now available in the MDT range. Whether renovating or expanding an existing KNX system, with KNX RF+ customers can rely on a proven, energy-efficient system.
No cables need to be laid to install KNX RF+. The battery-operated RF+ radiator thermostat is simply mounted in place of the existing radiator thermostat and is ready to use. Three adapters for the most common heating valves are included in the scope of delivery. The display on the device shows the current target temperature. The product is integrated into the KNX system via the RF+ line coupler, and the thermostat is controlled via the ETS using a push button.
The new RF+ radiator thermostat is available in two versions – with classic AA batteries or with a lithium battery. Both models benefit from the innovative, energy-saving DeepSleep mode. This means that the thermostats only transmit signals when the temperature setting is changed. This significantly extends the operating life of the battery-powered radiator thermostat to up to 3 heating periods with AA batteries and up to 8 heating periods for the version with a lithium battery.
The thermostats enable precise temperature control. The desired temperature can be set via the KNX system or directly on the thermostat using the buttons. If you feel very cold, you can use the boost function, which opens the valve completely for 5 minutes before returning to normal control. The buttons on the radiator thermostat can be locked via the ETS. The currently set temperature can be read at any time on the ePaper display, as can the battery status. The window-open function is particularly energy-saving. In conjunction with a temperature drop measured by the thermostat or the status of window contacts, it switches off the heating when the room is being ventilated. The new MDT radiator thermostats thus contribute to greater comfort and a noticeable reduction in heating costs.
The new RF+ window handles also benefit from the new DeepSleep mode, which means that the battery only needs to be replaced after up to 8 years. With their classic, elegant look in white or stainless steel, the new window handles fit into any interior design. The handles reliably transmit the window status (closed/open/tilted) to the KNX system. The integrated vibration alarm also offers added security, making the new MDT RF+ window handles ideal for security, energy and ventilation concepts.
The new products support KNX Secure, enabling secure communication between system components. MDT RF+ products offer installers and end users alike a reliable, flexible and future-proof solution.
