JUNG KNX building automation technology meets Samsung SmartThings

As one of the first manufacturers, JUNG KNX building automation technology combines with the IoT world of Samsung SmartThings.

Users can now network their entire KNX building automation with SmartThings-enabled devices and control them via the Samsung SmartThings app. For example, it is possible to link a Samsung Family Hub™ with the JUNG Smart Visu Server. In this way, the individual functions in the Smart Home can then be controlled on the touch display (Family Hub) of the refrigerator and even scenes can be called up: For example, the light above the work area becomes brighter, the lighting in the living room dims down and the radio switches on.

“By integrating Jung with SmartThings, Samsung is able to build a comprehensive smart home solution with KNX based lights, switches, ventilation system working with Samsung’s heat pump, home appliances, TVs, and even PV, Inverters and Battery from partner devices. Through this collaboration, we are excited to offer builders and property developers with comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency” Chanwoo Park (Head of IoT Business at Samsung Electronics) sums up the collaboration.

Smart living – saving energy

The topics of energy supply and energy efficiency are omnipresent. Therefore, the competences of JUNG and Samsung are growing together: When smart-home residents leave their homes, many devices continue to consume electricity. With a demand-oriented presence detection, users save a lot of energy. They don’t have to do anything else, because the technology recognizes on its own whether electricity, heat or light is needed.

Increase comfort and live more energy-efficiently: JUNG is one of the first KNX manufacturer to combine the smart home standard with Samsung’s IoT solution. More information about Samsung and JUNG products can be found online at www.jung.de and samsung.com.
