Seamless connection between energy systems and KNX with the new gateway from PEAKnx
PEAKnx, a manufacturer of innovative solutions for future-proof home and building automation based in Darmstadt, Germany, has launched the new KNX Modbus Gateway TCP secure – an intelligent interface that reliably connects Modbus-TCP devices such as photovoltaic systems, EV chargers or modern heating systems with KNX. The gateway closes a critical gap in building automation and lays the foundation for greater energy efficiency in smart homes and commercial properties.
Compact design for more flexibility in the distribution board
Thanks to its compact width of just one module (1 TE), the device easily fits into fully equipped distribution boards. As it is powered directly via the KNX bus, no additional power supply is required.
Simple configuration via ETS
Commissioning is straightforward with ETS, the configuration software for KNX: Using the ETS configuration tool, up to 250 Modbus data points can be flexibly set up and assigned to KNX objects. An integrated test environment in ETS allows all settings to be checked in advance – ensuring quick, safe and efficient commissioning without trial and error on the live system. In addition, PEAKnx provides a continuously growing range of ready-made templates and configuration files, which can be easily imported into ETS using the free DCA tool.
Energy management and visualisation with YOUVI
In combination with the YOUVI visualisation from PEAKnx, the gateway becomes the central hub of intelligent energy management. Energy flows such as PV yields, EV charging states or heating data can be clearly displayed, analysed and automated using the YOUVI logic module. This enables smart home users and building operators to control energy consumption more transparently, increase efficiency and reduce costs.
A straightforward path to greater energy efficiency
“With the new KNX Modbus Gateway TCP secure, we are delivering a secure and practical solution that enables our customers to integrate energy systems smoothly into the KNX world,” says PEAKnx Managing Director Lorenz Rohrmann. “Our goal is to make the path towards connected and energy-efficient buildings as simple as possible.”
Quality made in Germany
Like all PEAKnx products, the KNX Modbus Gateway TCP secure is developed and manufactured in Germany. This guarantees the highest quality standards, durable components and sustainable reliability.
