JUNG area / line coupler
The JUNG area / line coupler connects two KNX lines while retaining electrical isolation. Across publicly accessible areas, such as corridors and stairwells in apartment blocks, the device for rail mounting enables a secure KNX system: The data remains protected as the coupler can communicate encrypted with KNX Data Secure on both KNX lines. KNX Data Secure encrypts and authenticates all telegrams on the lines. This encryption means that the area / line coupler also protects KNX devices that do not support KNX Secure, as the coupler can encrypt or decrypt telegrams as a secure proxy. Finally, the area / line coupler protects the same KNX participants by preventing anonymous cross-line programming.
