Theben Automation has launched Theben Academy, a purpose-built training facility located at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon, and is now an officially certified KNX Training Centre, authorised to deliver KNX Courses in the UK.
The Theben Academy has been established to support the development of skills across smart building technologies, with a particular focus on making KNX education more accessible to electricians an engineers.
As part of Theben AG’s global commitment to open standards and long-term installer support, the UK training centre will play a key role in enabling professionals to design, install, and maintain KNX systems with confidence.

First KNX Basic Course Set for November 2025
Theben Academy’s first KNX Basic Certification Course is scheduled for the 10th November 2025, with registrations now open.
Delivered in-person by KNX-certified trainer Stephen Staudt technical team and supported by the Theben UK team, the course will provide UK-based professionals with access to the globally recognised KNX Partner certification, along with a clear pathway into full system integration using one of the world’s most trusted open protocols.
“The Academy isn’t about ticking boxes,” explains Paul Foulkes, Country Manager at Theben Automation. “Our goal is to offer practical, hands-on KNX and building automation training that reflects real-world project conditions and gives attendees the confidence to take on integrated lighting, HVAC, and building automation schemes.”

In addition to KNX courses, Theben Academy delivers on-demand and CPD-accredited sessions across presence and lighting control, DALI, sensor integration, and the company’s own LUXORliving smart home system, which provides a simplified solution for entry-level automation.
