Elsner Elektronik Wins International Awards for its KNX Room and Temperature Controllers

Innovative design from Ostelsheim: KNX eTR 101 room temperature controller wins Red Dot Award for Product Design. Cala Touch KNX room controller wins Plus X Award in several categories.

Elsner Elektronik continues the success story of award-winning products. This success is based on almost 30 years of experience in the building automation industry. “A decisive factor is also the close cooperation between development, design and production,” emphasizes Managing Director Jutta Elsner. In order to consistently implement its internal quality standards, Elsner Elektronik attaches great importance to qualified, in-house employees.

Product development focuses not only on technology, but also on user-friendliness and practicality. The controls and sensors for “smart homes” should also be comprehensible for every user. And the installer also benefits from a well thought-out and flexible product. The results of this development work are impressive and have now also convinced the international juries of the Red Dot Award and the Plus X Award.

Red Dot Award: Heating controller KNX eTR 101 is “Best of the Best“

For more than 60 years, the Red Dot Award has been one of the largest and most renowned design competitions worldwide. The top-class jury tested each of the approximately 5,500 products submitted individually and decided on the awarding of the prizes. With its precise design, KNX eTR 101 was able to assert itself against the competition and win the “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. This is the highest prize of the competition and is only awarded for the best, pioneering products in a category. The KNX eTR 101 automatically ensures the desired room temperature and enables individual readjustment via touch surfaces. It is used in buildings that use “KNX” automation standard. This widespread system is used to equip private houses and apartments as well as large commercial properties all over the world. The real glass surface is long-lasting, has a modern appearance and fits in with numerous furnishing styles. The KNX eTR 101 stands out from the crowd thanks to the perfect finishing of details such as the glass edges and the easy-to-read temperature display.

A room controller with Plus X factors

The Plus X Award is the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sport and lifestyle. It recognizes brands for the quality and innovation lead of their products. Particularly in the booming field of smart building technology, where developments are progressing rapidly, the award provides customers with an important point of reference for their purchasing decisions. Because only future-proof and innovative products ensure that the buyer is up to date for several product generations.

The Cala Touch KNX room controller won the Plus X Award in four categories: High quality, design, ease of use and functionality.

With the room controller, room climate, lighting and shading in buildings can be controlled using the KNX automation standard. The range of functions leaves nothing to be desired. Cala Touch KNX was designed to be high-quality and durable with a real glass touch surface, a high-resolution display as well as smart sensors and control in the background. The “High Quality” product differs from mass-produced products and is therefore an investment in the future. The user interface is the central design element. This is where Cala Touch KNX presents itself as functional and unobtrusive. As a result, the device fits in with various living styles and outlasts interior trends.
