Cherry Industrial Solutions Becomes ZF – the New Switch und Sensor Brand

Rebranding completed at Electronica 2016

ZF Friedrichshafen AG used the Electronica show from November 8th to 11th 2016 to complete the rebranding of the long established switch and sensors manufacturer CHERRY Industrial Solutions to ZF brand.

From 1st January 2017, all products sold via the Industrial Solutions product line will be branded ZF.

By utilizing the ZF brand, with its strong presence in the automotive and industrial markets, the intention is to strengthen the company’s efforts to develop new potential markets, with a focus on industry and building automation. With a comprehensive switch product portfolio, sensors, and the recent introduction of innovative switch products incorporating energy harvesting technology, these new markets offer excellent growth potential.

Customers are assured that apart from the brand name nothing else will change. All company information, customer’s contacts, product names and part numbers, will remain unchanged. New product introductions will be branded ZF.

Along with the change comes a range of newly branded marketing materials such as brochures and also a freshly designed new website receiving a complete new domain But no worries, nobody will miss anything as customers using still the old domain will automatically be redirected.

ZF switches, sensors and controls are synonymous with quality, precision and reliability, and can be found in a broad range of applications and markets such as white goods and appliances, automotive, gaming, vending, drives, switchgear, control engineering and power tools.

To support this idea, the new website also offers famous advanced features such as CAD-data downloads, tutorial videos and stock checks via ZF’s distribution network.

ZF is a global leader in driveline and chassis technology as well as active and passive safety technology. The company acquired TRW Automotive on May 15, 2015 which was integrated into the organizational structure as the Active & Passive Safety Technology Division. The combined company has a global workforce of around 138,300 at about 230 locations in some 40 countries and reported sales of €29.2 billion in 2015. ZF annually invests approximately five percent of its sales in Research & Development (€1.4 billion in 2015) ensuring continued success through the design and engineering of innovative technologies. The Business Unit Electronic Systems headquartered in Auerbach/Opf., Germany offers innovative electronic- and mechatronic solutions for automotive applications with a special focus on e-mobility and efficiency solutions. Furthermore the Business Unit is also offering switches and sensors for industrial applications.
