IBcon Announces 2015 Dates for Smart, Connected, High Performance, Intelligent Buildings Conference

2015 annual conference will be held on June 8-10 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel

IBcon, the Smart, Connected, High Performance, Intelligent Buildings Conference, a global event for building owners, operators, facility managers, integrators and others engaged in commercial or corporate real estate operations and management, announced it will hold its 2015 annual conference on June 8-10 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel. This year’s theme will be “REal Change Right Now – Welcome to the FutuRE!”

IBcon is the only conference focused exclusively on ALL aspects of the Intelligent Building required to facilitate the smart integration of key business processes into the high performance building ecosystem. Co-located with Realcomm 2015, the conference is attended by industry thought leaders representing over 35 billion SF of commercial and corporate real estate.

The theme, “REal Change Right Now – Welcome to the FutuRE!” reflects the transformation taking place in the industry as every business process and real estate asset is being re-engineered and automated, resulting in open architected, integrated, interoperable and IP centric networked buildings of the future. This is evidenced in the following key trends, which will affect how we will manage, operate and use space in the next 12 months:

– Technology and innovation are not slowing down
– Consumer technology is driving the pace of change
– Almost every real estate process has been hyper-automated
– Early adopter case studies are complete and have realized objectives
– Technology is no longer the inhibitor, but rather a firm’s ability to adopt
– The differences between fast moving firms and slow ones are growing substantially

IBcon 2015 will include a dynamic education program featuring more than 35 sessions and 100+ speakers from companies such as Microsoft, Google, IBM, GSA, Homeland Security, Westfield, Simon, GGP, Forest City, CBRE, JLL, Tridium, Wells Fargo, Zurich Insurance, Related, Taubman and more on top-of-mind topics such as designing a future-proof building network; managing the integrations of complex disparate systems; intelligent approaches to collecting/leveraging data and analytics for optimal operational performance and energy management.

A comprehensive pre-conference program designed for specific stakeholders based on their relationship with smart, connected, high performance buildings will be held on Monday, June 8. These by invitation only programs include the Intelligent Buildings Boot Camp, Smart Building Integrator Summit, Sustainability Executive Smart Building Symposium, COO|CFO|CAO Innovation Summit and the CIO Roundtable.

Day Two will include the Smart Building Best Practice Showcase, an interactive event featuring 50 of the most progressive and successful implementations of smart buildings, portfolios and campuses representing the next generation of interoperable, integrated and IP-centric buildings.

“The future is NOW when it comes to technology, automation and innovation for the real estate industry. Organizations must decide it is no longer an option to consider change, but rather time to aggressively move forward with adoption,” said Jim Young, co-founder and CEO of Realcomm Conference Group. “What people have been describing as the future is here: drones to inspect roofs, robots to measure space, 3D printing for spare parts, visualization equipment for building inspections and much more. These are no longer just ideas, but solutions that are being implemented and used in real-time, right now. It all signals new and exciting changes for 2015 and beyond. I encourage anyone interested in this topic to join us in June and become part of the largest global discussion on smart, connected, high performance, energy efficient, sustainable, intelligent buildings, portfolios, campuses and cities.”

IBcon is produced by the Realcomm Conference Group.
