On 20 March 2014 Gira awarded its first System Integrators Awards to outstanding intelligent building automation solutions.

Winner in the category “Residential Construction” was system integrator Klaus Geyer of Klaus Geyer Electrical Engineering, with a highly energy-efficient family house in the Bauhaus style.

Winner in the category of “Public and Commercial Building” was Willian Vent of microswitch GmbH, for the Hotel Park Grand Ledder.

Winner in the “Technical Detail Solutions” was Ralf Schlotz of Schlotz GmbH, with clever solutions for a sports hall with passive house construction.

A total of 82 projects were entered for the Awards, of which 40 were involved in residential construction, 26 in the public and commercial construction, and 16 detailed technical solutions.

“We were impressed by the high quality, but also by the large number of submitted projects,” stressed architect and jury member Armin Holle of Holle Architekten.

A special mention was also given to Axel Wendt for a Potsdam apartment building with 10 residential units, that were intelligently equipped with a KNX system.
