Hello [NAME]

In this last newsletter before the summer break, we bring you a bumper edition, starting with an article by Graham Oliver on the recently-opened Jung showroom, which, as lockdown eases, is proving its worth in these socially-distant times.

In his interview with KNXtoday, newly-elected President of KNX UK, Paul Foulkes, highlights how the COVID-19 situation has made people re-evaluate the design of buildings, and how it is essential that the association reach out to everyone involved in building design, beyond the KNX bubble.

Continuing this theme, Phil Juneau discusses strategies for a safer and more humane built environment. These include strict enforcement of indoor air quality, adaptation to spatial dynamics, and something close to my heart – the addition of plants within a building.

As buildings specifications change in response to the pandemic, Mark Warburton gives practical examples of KNX products that can help unify an environment with contactless operation, good air quality, support for BYOD and comprehensive building management.

When it comes to the nitty-gritty of installing such systems, Simon Buddle offers some great advice on fighting your corner when space for panels is being allocated, and highlights some examples of products that help to minimise space requirements.

Lockdown has been a challenge for all, but ever-resourceful, the KNX community has been quick to come forward with online training and webinars. We would like to thank BEMCO for sponsoring our Resources section this month, where you will find details of a wide range of excellent webinars it is running throughout July.

We also present you with our top stories and events this month, and whilst this newsletter won't be back until September, we will be updating the website, so always check back! In the meantime, we wish you and yours well, and hope you stay safe.
