YasminHashmiHello KNXers all over the world! We have some great articles for you this month.

First is a discussion by Lu Yung Chiu of Cytech, about the benefits of alarm systems that can be integrated into wider KNX systems, and some of the features you should look out for. Next, Mark Warburton of Ivory Egg looks at how active metering can save on energy bills, and he gives some practical solutions.

Our country profile this month is provided by KNX Croatia's Olivera Tomic, who provides an insight into how KNX Croatia is actively promoting the standard and how it is growing in popularity despite the economic downturn. We then interview Lillian Andersen of Schneider Electric Denmark on why she got involved with KNX, what she sees as its challenges and what opportunities there are to grow its popularity.

The ever-helpful Simon Buddle of SMC makes the case for installation companies gaining experience in multiple disciplines, promoting themselves as a one-stop shop for projects, and providing the client with a unified user interface. Next, KNXin's Jesús Arias García provides an inspiring article on smart cities of the future and how KNX could be at the centre of this vision. And finally, our resident 'Mr Fix It', Dr KNX, deals with issues in updating ETS4.

Don’t forget that you can comment on any of these articles directly, at the end of the article, and don’t forget too, to send us a picture of you, wherever you may be, with the KNX logo and a smile for our Where is KNX? gallery. Enjoy!
